Citröen Metropolis concept car (2010) first pictures

Just one thing. Have the Chinese people suddenly actually started conforming to the Western physical stereotype of them, or is the ludicrously small amount of headroom in this ‘limousine’ based on the idea that it looks so stunning that they’ll happily bow their heads to be seen in it.

Of course, since in the transition from concept sketch to concept car it already might have lost those coy rear pillar lights, by production time it might well grow a few centimetres higher. .. and lose those wing mirrors .. and suicide doors … and the chiselled drop in the bonnet … and have different lights … all round … and do without hydractive suspension.

So many different grilles, one for every taste, the poor old air won’t be able to make up its mind where to go. And don’t asymmetric wheels always look as if they are going forwards on one side but backwards on the other? But then misunderstanding the vocabulary of design cues is a growing Citroen trait, such as the backward swimming sharks fin B pillar on the DS3.

I take your point entirely Wittgenfrog, politically speaking. It must be that residual, though entirely redundant, image of Citroen as the choice of the deep thinking liberal that makes it seem worthy of comment. Interesting to read that Citroen have a creative studio in China. Have they thought of setting one up in France?

Well, you did mention it JohnnyD.
