So this woman first threw the system and the city into a tizzy when she lost the snake, which she had been carrying wrapped around her neck even though the law said that it had to be in a box, and when the snake was spotted a month later, caused the city to take a train out of service for a day until it could be secured, and all she had to say was “I’ll pay a little more attention in the future.” And that’s it? We all laugh and go home? How do people grow up and remain so blithely oblivious to everyone around them? Where does this misplaced, grandiose sense of entitlement come from?
Besides the law that requires her to carry her pet in a secured enclosure and not wear it as a scarf, how can it possibly not occur to her that just maybe not all her fellow subway passengers adore snakes as much as she does?

Riding the red line with a snake would be an improvement over some of the people on it.
