I believe it’s “Revolution” that they were going for. Also, add to the irony that Che put in place one of the biggest Communist dictators of the 20th century in Fidel Casbro.
And don’t forget the Korean who was partial to them either.

75% scale? No way. The world Ranger is only 9 inches shorter than the F-150. While it is around 700-900 pounds lighter than the F, that difference would narrow if the Ranger were brought up to US specs and requirements. It also wouldn’t be significantly cheaper.

Mercedes is using “Liberty” in its marketing? I can’t find a picture of Che in a Mercedes, but just about every other authoritarian leader in Africa and the Americas was partial to them.

It’s not good, so hopefully I’m the only one, lol.

Had the execs at Dacia realized where the inspiration for that ad was from, they probably would have thought twice…..

I have to say, if Dodge actually designs something similar to this then I’ll be one happy camper. I hadn’t quite warmed up to the overall design of this van, possibly because I still absolutely love the Ford E-Series look of a box-on-wheels, but this photoshop actually makes me warm up to the concept. Kudos to you! ^_^

1st Gear: Good to hear that the auto-industry is regaining the steam it has lost recently, albeit a bit slowly.
2nd Gear: I never was a big fan of Mercedes, and putting Lady Liberty next to Che is possibly one of the stupidest moves anyone could’ve made.
3rd Gear: No matter what, I’ll still love the Ranger. There is clearly still a market for these smaller trucks, as shown by the Frontier, Tacoma, Colorado, etc.
4th Gear: It’s not a bad look, though I think I’ll warm up to it once Dodge styling becomes cemented in. For what it is worth I still see the older Dodge vans driving around here, usually being used by Verizon Fios. [And just to say it, I'm going to miss the E-Series as well. >_<]
5th Gear: A reiteration of my response to the First Gear fits nicely here. ^_^
6th Gear: No comment on this one.

AHA! Reverse: “Camilo Pardo Hosts Designer’s Party at his Bankle Building”. Among things at the party was this Camilo Pardo designed Ford GT with a Mirrachrome paint finish and a fluorescent orange stripe for GT Guy LLT who also tweaked the supercharger to deliver 725 hp.
Now, that’s a party! [www.autoblog.com]

Ahhh I didn’t realize it was bigger than the old one and not much smaller then the F. They should just release it in limited #s as it maye not kill as many F sales as they think.

Is this a shot of the hatch?

It’s OK as long as it’s not filled with Canadian air.

They could’ve hired Lovitz!

I imagine the Ram Ducato will look like this. I hope my Paint skills are appreciated.
Those Ducatos do drive great. I drove a new rental Ducato from the Netherlands to Croatia, and back, in 2008. Diesel, 6-speed manual, 8 adult men inside, all on captain chairs. I have fond memories of the trip. And I believe we got 37 mpg (US) on the entire trip, including German Autobahn speed.

Couldn’t Mercedes use a more German-appropriate ruler for their marketing?
Baja Bug & (again) Volvo
I wonder why Canadian made would be something to warn of

And here a more longer version of the same ad.

The Global Ranger is approx 75% scale F150 and is available with a 3.2L i4 turbo diesel, and is essentially all the truck you’d need for most of the things that light duty truck owners do here, but it would definitely destroy sales of the F150 for those wanting a smaller gas or diesel truck that isn’t an f250 or higher

Did Mercedes got the inspiration from the Dacia Logan MCV ad when they featured cameo of Castro with Che, Lenin, Mao?

Mercedes apologized and handed out free copies of Mien Kampf to all the visitors.

My Pshop skills went bye-bye 10 years ago…can someone please make me an old school jeepney version?

1st gear: Aw, Ray, why ya gotta be so cynical?
2nd: Well, Mercedes were the choice ride of a certain recently deceased Commie
3rd: For once Ford backs away from a truck war. Right when crosstown rival GM is getting serious about it. And for once the Japanese lead a truck war with the Tacoma and Frontier. LOLWUT?
4th: Aww, no prizes for those too busy for videogames?
5th: obamanotbad.jpg Pun intended
6th: What’s Tang Hua? Is it a new flavor of this?

So, Derrick Kuzak says that Lincoln will be a brand for NYC liberals, WTF?

It’s go up in size and they are afraid it will eat F series sales. That said, I wouldn’t buy an F series but I would buy a new Ranger.

Reverse: Canadian made tires are dangerous.
In all seriousness, I took this picture this morning on my Cruze (wearing Goodyear Assurance tires) after I noticed the odd placement of the Made In Canada stamp while filling the tires with air. Picture of the Cruze: [i43.tinypic.com]

“Part of the reason the issue resurfaced is the same executives’ buoyant predictions that a redesigned Ford Ranger for the rest of the world is going to be a great success. “
I’ve never had or wanted a Ranger, but it seems idiotic to me to keep a truck you think will be very popular out of your home market.
