Forzalopnik: Wednesday Winners Take The Bouquet [Forzalopnik]

The light on the horizon grows dim, and Judgment Day is at hand: Voting for the Jalopnik Forza Motorsport Downloadable Car Pack is almost over. One more vote takes place today. Here are Wednesday’s champions.

Yesterday was the third and penultimate day of voting for Jalopnik‘s community-voted car pack. It was not an easy day. The introduction of the Commenter Golden Ticket pleased some and offended many, and the voting ranks grew restless. Cars like the Volvo 242 Homologation and the Mitsubishi Starion were given a temporary reprieve from the heartless justice that is the online poll. A lot of weird juju came and went. And we started an IV drip of caffiene and 90-weight in order to keep from going temporarily mad. (Or is that to stay mad? Details, details.)

Nevertheless, we soldier on. Today is the final day of voting, and one more poll takes place at noon EST. This is the big one, and it’s set to be nothing less than a massive, heartless slaughter. Five Golden Ticket cars will be introduced with today’s vote, but there will be no more second chances. Tomorrow, we wrap things up, pick up the pieces, and tell you how it all shook out.

As our Forza time draws to a close, we have but one word of benediction. Carry this statement into battle, and when you find yourself growing weak with indecision, fall into its loving, supportive arms:

Thundercougarfalconbird, my friends. Thundercougarfalconbird.

Housekeeping: As we mentioned earlier, wallpapers will be offered for the art in this series of posts, so just hold your horses. All votes were counted by a tame, intelligent wildcat that lives in Sam’s closet and subsists on the blood of the innocent. Your mileage may vary. In the names of Rosche, Chapman, Goosen, and Gurney, I offer this blessing: Go forth and get funky.

Round Two, Group I

The feisty, love-it-or-hate-it BMW 2002 Turbo again takes a commanding, lag-filled lead. The Fiat Abarth TCR goes out in a blaze of grappa and hand gestures. The E28 M5 loses out to its younger brother, the fatter and faster E39, and two Astons claw their way to the bottom of the top of the charts. Still, take heart: The Lancia 037 Stradale lives, as does the Cossie-powered ’74 Ford Escort. All is not lost.

Round Two, Group II

What’s this? Two SyTys in the final cut? Your eyes do not deceive you — it makes no sense, but it was expected. We bid a fond, Bumbeckian farewell to the Mitsubishi Starion, praying that it returns as a Golden Ticket gift. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage bulldogged its way to second, proving that, for some, Britannia will always rule. And the Mk1 Volkswagen Scirocco blows its desert-wind way to success. Breezy!

Round Two, Group III

Oh, you poor, poor fools — you’ve gone and killed the only Aston that Sam ever loved. You’ve saved the BMW Z3 M Coupe, the Saab 99, and the Mercedes-Benz 2.5-16, however, which means that you may still have souls. This is marginally encouraging.

  1. @RobbyP: I said ON Jalopnik. I’m with you, there’s a lot of you out there that read it and don’t post, and I’m for you guys having full voting rights.

I am against people voting who don’t even know what the definition of Jalop is.

  3. @koolykool44: Yeah, as a non-gamer who would seriously consider buying the game because of a Jalop-pack. I would have appreciated it if the lists had been culled of cars that essentially exist in the game.

I find the Syphoon fully dragon worthy. Pickup + V6 + massive turbo + cheesy body kit? Whats not to love?

I also think Lady Gaga to be super hot in that Italian girl with a big nose and big ass kind of way.

I’m also a bit mad, and I really want to buy another 70s Opel GT. Thus I think you and I must happily disagree on most things while we seek out and destroy all who have voted for the 240SX.

  31. @Engineerman: I agree completely, it’s obvious that the voting PUBLIC can’t be trusted to represent Jalopnik.

GroupII: Two GMs, same platform but different bodies, and -another- Ferrari and Porsche? What a waste. The Starion is one of the most under represented cars out there, not many people know of them and it seems it’ll stay that way. Unfortunate.

GroupIII: Pitch the Datsun ‘n Nissan and replace with the Volvo and Omni.

    RallySol

  35. Wow, we really need to get that gold ticket up and going Jalop’s. We need to get that ’87 M5, ’84 RX-7, ’88 Starion, most certainly the ’87 Monte SS(Who wouldn’t love blowing the doors off a Ferrari in a mullet mobile monte), ’70 Camaro, ’59 Aston, ’89 SHO!!!!, and preferably both ’77 and ’69 Trans Am.

Turn 10, I have bought every single Forza. Please allow the Jalopnik Car pack to pack like 27 cars just so we can fit all the good ones in.

  36. @Bonhomme7h: Brilliant!

  37. @oddfish: Yes! The voting is definitely getting skewed away from the Jalopnik demographic. 40. What fresh hell is this?

It is a sad day when I find myself having to reiterate points previously made, for I fear my words may have fallen on deaf ears.

The following cars are still alive:

    ANOTHER Civic
    ANOTHER Impreza

And more goddamn BWMs than you can shake a stick at.

There are already eight Civics in the game! 8! No one needs them all because they’re largely interchangeable- we don’t need a ninth!

There are already six Imprezas! 6! Even as a car nerd I can barely tell them apart, and they too are largely interchangeable- we don’t need a seventh!

There are already twelve interchangeable, characterless bimmers- and we’ve voted forward four more? Who actually needs the Z3M when the Z4M is already in the game? The 2002 Turbo is noteworthy and deserving, but since that car was made, have we even seen BMW crack a smile, an inkling of a grin?

Whither the Jalop? Where is the joy?

The thought- the mere THOUGHT- of driving a Taurus around the ‘Ring had me grinning ear to ear. Many of you, my friends, grinned that same grin, thought of that same joy.

And that joy has now been sacrificed. Go home; happiness no longer lives here.

And for, what, I ask you? For what? Another Civic? Another Impreza? Some BMW fanboy a thousand miles away, sitting behind his screen and dreaming of one day being that jackass on his bluetooth headset who cuts you off?

This is not the Internet Fanboy Vote-Off car pack. This is the JALOPNIK car pack. We don’t vote so that we can win- we vote for what we love, and what we love is the joy of driving.

We have a chance for greatness. We have a chance to avoid the pitfalls of the past, to DLCs neglected for their decision to include every year cars which are good, but ultimately boring. Because, let’s be honest- you already have a lot of good cars in your Forza garage. You don’t need more. But you’ll never have too many cars that are fun, too many that make you laugh every time you drive them.

Not every fallen friend can get a reprieve. Some casualties are lost forever, crushed by the soul-crushing boredom.

But we are Jalops. Hope springs eternal, and swift action shall be our creedo. Second chances are now last chances for all.

Vote with your heart. Vote for what we all love. Vote for cars that will make those who have never experienced the joy that we have scratch their heads and wonder what went wrong during our childhoods. Let them experience our joy, and yes, let them experience it too.

There may still be hope for them yet. Eternal salvation, one DLC away. One vote away.

This is a powerful tool. Use it wisely.

  48. @Vanderhuge: Ditto that. March forth to save the GHLS! Arguably the most Jalop US automaker creation of the 80s.

What is wrong with you people? The car park already has something like 73.2 BMWs. Great cars, but not a crazy awesome hot hatch with a variable nozzle turbo and torque steers like a gorilla grabbing the steering wheel from you.

    1. Saab 99

    3. Dodge Omni GLHS
    4. 1956 Lotus 11
    5. 1981 VW Scirocco S

  61. @AddysDaddy: I pushed for the 240 to be added back in, but I am with you on pretty much everything else. That Alfa MUST be put back in the running! How the 33 or the Montreal lost to a Pontiac Fiero and GMC SUV with an oversize engine is just beyond me…

    ThreeLitre

  62. @ThreeLitre: The problem is there were 3 simply beautiful Alfas in this round, and 0 of them will be moving on…

  66. @Alfisted: Both the E39 M5 and the M Coupe are in the JFG. And the 2002 is clearly Jalopworthy, especially when turbo’d.

Group 3: Too much to list. Start by swapping out all the winners with the also-rans.

  69. @Engineerman: Based on the golden ticket cars from yesterday, I’m all for this. If even half of the cars in the pack were the golden ticket cars it would be a glorious car pack.

  71. Well, I see that most of the cars I wanted are gone now.

Good Jarb, Jalops. Now I’m back to nagging Che on the NeoGAF forums…

    twinturbo2

  72. I have a feeling that a lot of non-Jalops swayed the vote. How in all of the Jalopniverse did the Volve 242, GLH-S, SHO, Starion, and all the other odd-ball wonder mobiles get left off and a DeLorean and Fiero make the cut? I call shenanigans and hope the editors include some of these in their pack. Somewhere Coco is weeping over the loss of the SHO.

    TheSwagger

  73. I’m mad as hell, and I’m not gonna take it anymore!

Basically people have gotten confused with choosing a car pack for Forza in our own, particularly Jalop-esque idiom, and choosing their own dream garage. You can hear the defeatism in the editors’ comments next to each group of winners.

I’m proud of you all for saving:
    1955 Porsche Spyder
    Datsun 240z
    2002 Turbo
    037 Stradale
    ’81 Scirocco
    Saab 99 Turbo
    Aston Zagato

And how could you kill these?
    The 6.3 Merc
    Aston DBR1
    Alfa Montreal
    MGB GT
    Fiat Abarth
    Volvo 242

Who in god’s name would pick the 1999 M5 over the E28? The Syclone (ok maybe that one makes sense)? Who killed the Ferrari California Spyder? The friggin’ car from Back to The Future made it over the car from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Even if you know nothing about cars that one should be a no brainer.

I think it’s kind of like the people who are in the studio audience at Top Gear. Most of them look like cave dwellers, and when asked their opinion, are almost always slightly subnormal. Maybe they just like being in back of shot on television. Feeling like they get an input when in reality they’re just ill informed and bored.

Ahh, but that’s how democracy works, and no matter what car pack comes out, I’ll be proud of it. This is actually hilarious to see how this list develops, and the invective has been of a superlative quality.

Thanks also to the editors for the Golden Tickets. Nice to see some cars get a second chance and succeed.

  74. @pres: Go where? It was 500 votes short of making it in this round…

    siva80

  75. @Engineerman:
You need the common man’s car to remind you how awesome the interesting vehicles are.

Besides, the Fiero is many times lighter than the Delorean and many times more interesting than the M5. Take both of those out for the Abarth and the Alfa, and it would be a much, much better list.

Ok, I’m a bit biased, but the Fiero is an amazing bit of engineering, one that was wasted with boring engines. Maybe the Forza guys will allow a small block chevy swap?

    cobrajoe

  76. @exartist: Yes, another Alfa fan!

Your heart is in the right place my son. Yet I fear the DeLorean will be a strong favorite through to the end. Despite it’s piggish excesses, it hemorrhages cool – partly because it did include a flux capacitor in its most visible iteration, and hey, who doesn’t want to try time travel or go to a place where you don’t need roads.

Better, I think, to oust the Fiero GT and get the 33 back in the running.

  94. Forza doesn’t need a another BMW M-anything, and the whole point of this site creating a car pack should have been to add the interesting, older, oddities that we all know and love. Will I buy the pack when it comes out? I will, if only because I’m relatively confident that the turbo ’02 will be in it, and I’ll love driving that.
Really, though, what could have, should have been a brilliant group of cars is trending toward the mundane and I’m afraid that it’ll be just another pack of cars – not Jalop-worthy.
People, people… the Alfa Montreal… We need it, we need the 6.3, we need cars that will represent this site, in all it’s glory. Truly, we’d have been better off to take on the top 10 Nice price cars, and have called it a day.

  98. I submit that only Commenters be allowed to vote in the final poll if this has any chance of being a true J’nik car pack and not just a “who has the largest group of brand loyal fanboy friends” pack.

I’m still shocked that after all the rallying the Dodge Shelby Omni and Volvo 242 still didn’t make the cut… I demand these make it back for the Golden Ticket!

I also recommend the resurrection of the Mitsubishi Starion once again as well. if you have any hoon left in your soul these cars will be brought back from the dead.

If you want the Jalopnik car pack to leave it’s mark of Forza properly we need cars that are cheap, cars that are obscure, cars that surprise you, and cars that arouse the senses without any kind of fancy electronic trickery or bum-coddeling!

    twistedsymphony

  99. We need a revote, with only those who have been on Jalopnik at least 1 month able to vote. How the 6.3 or 242 didn’t make this list, I will never know.

  120. Can I take a quick poll? How many people here would say, be damned with this democracy BS and let the Jalopnik crew go ahead and choose the cars? 121. Democracy has failed us again. How can cars as epic and timeless as the 1970 Hemi Cuda, the Ferrari 250 GT, the 1965 Mustang Fastback, and true petrol/gear head vehicles like Alfa Romeo’s and Lotus’ be out voted by 1986 CRX’s and a DeLorean nobody actually will race and just want to make clones of the Back to the Future car with… It’s a sad sad day!

    The Stig’s American Cousin

  122. Something is wrong here, the Lotus 11 has been mistakenly placed in the “Also-ran” category. I trust it will be put back in the running shortly.

    Ben Wojdyla

  123. I made a profile to support this. It’s a travesty if this car does not get put in the game. This car? The Dodge Omni GLHS. I was a longtime Jaloplurker, and this crime against jalop’d cars requires I must stand and raise my voice.

I am a gamer geek. I am a car geek. Forza is one of my two bibles. The Dodge Omni GLHS has to be one of the single most jalopnik cars on this list. You take an American econobox that rode on tires that wouldn’t cut it on a Huffy bike some kid rejected from double dare and throw in a hamster wheel and a three-legged geriatric hampster to run it.

Now take that same car, put on some tires they got from dad’s mountain bike, and then drop a *real* engine into it…and you have one of the first American pocket rockets…that felt like every part was going to fly off every second you drove it. I can think of no better Jalopnik experience. So plaese…give the GLHS another chance…it’s what we stand for. It’s for America, Earth and the Solar System.

Well at least no Civic Type-R.

    elargentino

  134. I am blaming the non-Jalops for much of this voting. There is no need for both halves of the SyTy trucks. The baddest wagon left, the RS2, was left behind. My beloved GLHS was saved then scrapped. And the Alfa Montreal and nearly 500hp 155 are left off!! WTF?!?!

All the while people think this game needs more of the following: M5′s, 240′s, Lotus Esprit’s and a freaking Fiero!! Are you people serious!! This is a game about being able to ‘drive’ cars that are a fantasy to most of us and a Fiero makes it…

    Un-Jalopnik indeed folks…

  140. I sense a lot of ire in the posts below. Almost all of the cars selected are foreign, and those have a decidedly Euro bent.
Is this because the Jalop commentariat are partial to Euro cars, or that they are Forza-philes who noticed a dearth of old Euro cars to hoon in the existing game and want to balance out the types of entries?
BTW- no GLHS, SHO, Volvo 242 or 77 Bandit- WTF?!

    1) We did get to vote for cars that we wanted to have included…. I don’t know if that’s ever happened before, so thanks to Jalopnik and Forza, etc, for that opportunity.

    2) Don’t get mad at the Jalop’s… it’s not just us who are voting here.

    3) We didn’t get a lot of vehicles that we wanted included for Forza 3, so we’ll just have to wait and have a more Jalop add on pack included for Forza 4, right? maybe?

Emotional outbursts reverberated amongst the assembled crowd, with the air of excitement continuing well past lunch hour. It was a memorable moment for all…”

    DoctorNine

  154. @Devin LaDawri: Group 3 is definately the biggest disappointment. We lost some great cars only to vote in cars that are nearly duplicates of what’s in game! Do we really need a 1992 240 when there’s already a 1992 Silvia? Is there enough of a difference between a 1991 CR-X SiR and a 1986 CR-X Si to warrant removing a Lotus 11 from consideration? And don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the Ford Cosworths, but did we really need to vote in both of them?

With maybe 3 exceptions, I’d much rather have the group 3 also-rans in consideration than the cars that won.

And I’d like to end my comment the same way I noticed some of our other commenters are ending their comments. I never had a sign-off signature before, so please let me know if you like it.

  173. Happy that the Saab 99 made it, sad that the MGB GT did not.

Shocked that the Saab outvoted the Z3M coupe! Definitely some weird results.

    zachiatrist

  174. @CaptMatt15 is Alfa Crazy!: LOL, yeah this car pack was probably the only thing that would steer me towards an XBox 360 – the way it’s going I’ll be sticking with my original plan of buying a PS3 if/when GT5 ever comes out.

    TTopJohn

  175. Please bring back any single Ford muscle car! They all died! Without the each other’s competition maybe one could thrive on its own. I would prefer the Falcon but stand by yesterday’s comment that we should just forget about the Aussie cars at this time and that a future car pack should be nothing but Aussie cars! The 65 Mustang got the most votes, please bring it back as a golden ticket. As the only Ford muscle car it could garner support it did not previously get and make it in.

  176. @vdiddy210 – Professional Blog Commentator: Mass koolaid-inspired jalopnik suicide?

    Coreboy

  177. @Adam Spano: Perhaps.

However; it is harder to be topical with the CRX or 240….

    Devin LaDawri

  178. @Duncan345: It’s just GOT to make it in.

    Drew and not U

  179. I am officially underwhelmed with how this is turning out. Who votes a fiero in over an abarth or 68′ Alfa Stradale? As promised my opinion of the people inhabiting the internet has just dropped from generally ambivalent leaning disliked, to utter disgust and disdain.

I fear we have been sabotaged…

    Engineerman

  180. Group 1 is by far the most shameful. An M5, a DMC-12, and TWO Astons, but the Alfa 33 Stradale gets left out?!? Not to mention the RS2, Benz 6.3, and Fiat Abarth TCR. Shame, shame.

    KTown Hoonboy

  181. no xj13, no aston, no mach 1, no amx, no omni, no sho, no t5r, no 242, no dbr1, no mgbgt… Thats a jalop car pack right there… you see what happens when you let anybody vote? DEMOCRACY HAS FAILED US! Forza has enough porsches and ferrarises. It needs some flare DAMMIT. as long as the SyTy makes it, I’ll be semi ok.

    pj134

  182. How the hell did a DeLorean beat out the Benz 6.3 AND the Alfa 33 Stradale? Even with a flux capacitor those things were pigs.

    exartist

  183. I give up. The 10 car voting system is the problem.
Everyone picks their favorite quirky jalop worthy car then with the left over votes picks the fucking “popular cars”. Votes add up and the popular cars just end up getting all the left over votes.

    TheBeanMachine

  184. Escort lifting up it’s front wheel to say hello to you.
Go on Escort I’m with you!

    BЯдΖǐL-ЯЄРΘЯΤЄЯ

  185. In the name of Bo “Bandit” Darville I demand that the 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am be reinstated. Y’all can dump the Delorean to make room. No one really wants to drive a Delorean anyway, they just want to look at it. The T/A on the other hand, you simply can’t wait to hang the tail out, preferably on a surface that will produce twin roostertails of red Georgia clay.

    TTopJohn

  186. @Kuang: I agree. Group III has popular names… and the lurkers are just voting for what they know.

This looks grim for a true Forzalopnik list.

    Coreboy

  187. The lack of Volvos and Alfas is shameful.

    archdukeferdinand

  188. the SHO lost?! wtf?!

    deathbyPSI

  189. @RFT: TRAVESTY!

    DoctorNine

  190. Oh man. What’s with the gigantic 240Z voting bloc? Is there a huge group of Forza players out there who are like, “hey, I want to download new cars for this game, but they’d better not be any different to what I’ve already got!”

Me, I’m just disappointed the golden ticket for the 300SEL 6.3 didn’t make any odds. That car needed to be in there, and it needed to be in there with, “styling upgrade, front: flags of small African nation” available on the tuning menu.

    rimaniturces

  191. @YankBoffin: Dude the RS1600 and Cosworth only share a name. They have about as much in common as an iPhone and Coelacanth.

But who cares I won’t be buying this car pack.

Thanks for the effort to arrange everything, Jalopnik! At least somebody had a bit of initiative, even if it didn’t end with anything that suits my tastes.

    Christo

  192. What is this, the Motor Trend car pack? We picked the wrong M5, we picked two SyTys (we really only need the lighter Syclone), we have no Alfas, we voted out the damn Starion! Our collective readership must defend itself against the hoons of yesterday.

Dear fellow readers – if a car has been given a golden ticket, it’s because it’s too awesome to be voted out. Now where’s Scandanavian Flick and his bag of Swedish Fish – the beatings must commence.

    Maymar

  193. This voting series is full of so much fail…

    dahruu

  194. @Pibbs: Seriously! There are some Jalops out there that have a lot of explaining to do… I get lauded for my fondness of Non-Quirky cars and yet I voted for them, in the spirit of what makes Jalopnik..Jalopnik.

Dear Jalopnik user base. You make me sick.

    vdiddy210 – Professional Blog Commentator

  195. A 240SX makes it, but the 242 fails? You uncivilized, drifting, plastic-loving fools!

    Michael Jozwiak

  196. I’m a little worried. Group II is looking a bit weak, and there’s some great cars in there.

    Step it up Jalopers!

    Coreboy

  197. @YankBoffin:
    “No Abarth, no buy”

(To be sung to the tune of “No woman, no cry” by Maximum Bob Marley.)

    DoctorNine

  198. No Montreal, no Mangusta, no Z8, no SHO, no Hemi ‘Cuda, no RS2, no 850 R, no 507, no DBR1 (for very little), no 6.3, no screaming chicken…

My faith in Jalops is now lost.

    Syrax

  199. It lives!

Keep the beast alive. Vote for the M Coupe or face eternal damnation!

    Duncan345

  200. NOOOOOOOOOO!! Oh the humanity! They’ve killed the ’65 Mustang and–what?? The ’70 Hemi ‘Cuda??
Please car gods..hear our prayers! return these dear cars to our voting public!

P.S. And the 242, and the Javelin, and the Ferrari 250, and the Gran Torino, and….

    William Panik

  201. @Devin LaDawri: The Saab 99 Turbo is an awesome car. You should be complaining about the CRX or the 240 SX (a completely redundant car, there’s a silvia in game)

    Adam Spano

  202. I can only hope that some of the losers will be coming out in a later car pack.

    P161911 probably shoudn’t have

  203. The appeal of the Syclone and Typhoon is only slightly less mystifying to me than the appeal of Lady Gaga and Two and A Half Men.

    Captain Liverspots

  204. As much as I want to make a case for something for a golden ticket, I’m disillusioned at the horid performance of all of yesterday’s golden ticket cars I wanted to come back, only to see them go down in a huge blaze.

    4 cam torino

  205. @Jeremy Gunter: Ouch I had hoped the Probe would go further.

    Umm, ahhh. Um. Never mind.

    Iron-Balls Minardi

  206. This is the worst score I’ve had…8 out of 30. I feel like such a failure. :(

    skaycøg

  207. Like I needed another reason to be a misanthrope.

    jpech

  208. Seriously disappointed with you, Jalopnik…

Also… you better vote more for that fucking 99 turbo…. and if we lose the 550 spyder, you’re all condemned to hell. Seriously. Hell… Do not pass go, do not collect 200 jalop-points (you dont deserve them anyway), go directly to hell.

    Adam Spano

  209. Why can’t we have nice things? I would have modded the crap out of this in game and beat expensive Italian and German iron all day. WHHHHHYYYYYYY!!!!!!!???!!!!!?!!

    TheSwagger

  210. Well, son of a bitch. Group III still came out very disappointing. No GLHS. No 242. No SHO. No Eleven.

Let’s be reasonable here: there’s no reason to have the Syclone and Typhoon, and there’s no need for two similarly wicked Escorts. Get rid of the similar doubles and that frees up a couple spots for some more interesting cars.

    YankBoffin

  211. Did we really need both the Syclone and the Typhoon? I think one of the two is sufficient.

    Pibbs

  212. Wait, hold the f’in phone! People. PEOPLE.

What in the name of all that is holy and good and beautiful were you thinking?!

I will say, with very few exceptions, that the list of cars that made the cut are good. Great even. The game will be better for having them included.

But really, I have to voice a few complaints and hope they make a positive impact (IMHO) on today’s Golden Ticket nominees. Where is the love for Alfas!?!? You know what, forget that they are even Alfas. How did this happen!??:

A Fiero GT makes it over the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale?!

A GMC Typhoon makes it over the Alfa Romeo Montreal?!?!?

We know the Golden Ticket thing works people. One of my own picks, the 240SX SE, made the cut – coming back from the dead to come in a solid 6th in round three yesterday. Justice can be served people.

Make some room in your hearts for two of the most beautiful cars on this list. Vote Alfa.

    ThreeLitre

  213. I need the name and address of everybody who did not vote for the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale so that I can give them a swift kick in the dick.

    NoiseTankNick

  214. There are actually 5 Alfa/Rotaries…. I missed the 155 Touring Car. Come on people, 11,900 RPM!

    CaptMatt15 is Alfa Crazy!

  215. No GLHS, no 242, no SHO, no RS2 Avant? There is no Jalop-God.

Although, the Probe did get the least amount of votes. So some of you jackasses got it right….

    I can be stig?

  216. @Lost in the age of Aerostar: Yeah, I was considering picking up a 360 if this Jalop-pack came with some epic rides we all love here, but the way this is panning out….

    CaptMatt15 is Alfa Crazy!

  217. TURBOOOOOOOOOO!

    Tanshanomi

  218. @vdiddy210 – Professional Blog Commentator: No kidding. Good thing there weren’t any Camrys on the list, they might have voted for those too.

    Pibbs

  219. How anyone could look themselves in the mirror after failing to vote for the Abarth is something I’ll never understand…

    RFT

  220. The Also-Rans
    1983 Volvo 242 Group A Homologation
    1989 Ford Taurus SHO, 3482
    1986 Dodge Shelby Omni GLHS
    1965 MG MGB GT
    1988 Mitsubishi Starion ESI-R
1973 Ford Falcon GT XB, 3134
    1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Churras

  221. Poor Starion. :(

    Grimm1127

  222. @brachial_plexus: and more modern boy racer cars that lack jalop-ness that the older Italian and British iron possess. I am saddened.

    Slave2anMG

  223. First and foremost, thank you all for the Saab Love. We made it to the final round, but we’re going to need much more support than the 3985 votes. That being said, we’re going to need to get some Golden Ticket love for our favorite little crapbox, the Omni, the SHO, the Volvo 242, Monte Carlo SS, and one I just didn’t think I’d need to ask about, the 71 Mustang Mach1. I mean come on, a Scirocco over the Mach 1. Psshhhaw!

    Pibbs

  224. we couldn’t get 8 more votes for the ’59 Aston because we need another bimmer?

And for the love can we PLEASE stop voting for the CRX? we all know there’s already a ’91 SiR.

    BrtStlnd

  225. A Saab beats the DBR1, the 250GT, aaaaaaaaaaaaand a Lotus 11?

    What is this?
    The near-death sympathy vote?

    Devin LaDawri

  226. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

All my precious Alfas and Rotarys have been knocked out! Golden Ticket PLEASE rescue one of them! There are 4 to choose from, I think you should rescue either the RX-3, or the Alfa 33, but I will be happy if any Alfa or Rotary makes the final voting!

    CaptMatt15 is Alfa Crazy!

  227. Group three must be one of the most painful examples of fanboy vote stacking in the entire competition so far. The 240s are different enough to what’s already there to be worth considering, and the inclusion of the civic is still beyond belief.

When these black hearted individuals get home, they’ll hear a gruff swedish rumble as the door slams behind them, and in the half light ahead a sleek low silhouette will whisper ‘simplify and add a world of pain’.

    Kuang

  228. The Alfa 33 Stradale didn’t make it?

    There is no god!

    cobrajoe

  229. WHERE IS MY 6.3!!!!! JALOPS YOU MUST VOTE FOR IT. YOU MUST!!!!! or I’ll find you.

    Buickboy92

  230. I don’t really know what’s going on anymore…But A world where Jalops don’t chose A Volvo Racer, a Shelby Omni and a Conan SHO is a world I really don’t want to live in…

    vdiddy210 – Professional Blog Commentator

  231. Ouch I had hoped the Probe would go further. The idea of having a Lemons car is what kept me voting for it.

    Jeremy Gunter

  232. These become less and less jalop with each vote.

    brachial_plexus

  233. w.t.f. How can the Starion, RS2, and GLHS still be losing out to the 99 M5? Democracy is failing. I vote the Jalop staffers just do the picking, since apparently we can’t handle it.

Hey, if they charge double can we get 20 cars?

    Drew and not U

  234. Dammit, no Taurus SHO and no Omni GLHS.

Guess I won’t now ever know what it’d be like to play Forza.
