MUNICH. Germany — The BMW M3 has turned 25, and BMW is waxing nostalgic over “the most successful touring car in motorsport history.” In addition to a Frozen Gray limited edition released earlier this summer, BMW is talking up the colorful history of the performance edition of the 3 Series.
“The anticipation began in August 1985,” says BMW, recounting the development process of the M3 in a 22-page document.
The limited-edition BMW M3 Frozen Gray edition sold out within 15 minutes of its on-sale date in June, BMW said. Only 30 were offered, priced at $77,600.
