Range-Topping Nissan Juke Shiro Arrives in the U.K.

Just the Facts:

  • For the U.K. market, Nissan is replacing its limited-edition Juke Kuro with the new range-topping Juke Shiro.
  • Nissan says Kuro is Japanese for black and Shiro is Japanese for white.
  • Shiro is also the first name of Nissan’s famed design boss in Japan.

LONDON — Nissan says its new Juke Shiro for the U.K. market takes its name from the car’s white color scheme. Shiro, the company says, means white in Japanese. By lucky coincidence, it also happens to be the first name of Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s famed design boss in Japan.

The range-topping Juke Shiro replaces the limited-edition Juke Kuro (which means black in Japanese, according to Nissan).

As the name implies, this special version of the compact crossover has a number of white details, notably a white center console and door panels. In addition, the car has white stitching on the seats, steering wheel, gearshift boot and center armrest.

The Juke Shiro is available in a wide color palette, including a new Nightshade hue that resembles eggplant. The car also gets dark-gray 17-inch alloy wheels and satin silver door handles and mirror caps.

U.K. deliveries begin next month.

Inside Line says: We’re waiting for the Jaguar XK Callum and the Volvo C30 Horbury.
