The Viano, which is the people-carrier version of the Vito, now comes with additional equipment such as new individual LED reading lamps and fibre optic units for interior ambient lighting. Options that can be specified for the Viano include a Rear Seat Entertainment system.
All of the Viano’s engines have been converted to BlueEfficiency technology for better efficiency. Among the features of the new BlueEfficiency models include an ECO start/stop system, optimised low-resistance tyres and a new 6-speed transmission with long gear ratios. Four and five-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, all of whom are Euro 5 emissions compliant, are available, with power outputs ranging from 134bhp to 255bhp.
The Vito cargo van, meanwhile, has BlueEfficiency as an option, and has the same features as the Viano. Power outputs for the Vito range from 94bhp to 255bhp. Mercedes-Benz has also tuned the chassis and suspension to suit the cargo-carrying character of the Vito, while the interior has been given a simpler interface. Externally, the Vito gets a different front end with new headlights and a refreshed set of bumpers.
