MINI spawns London Games Special Edition Coopers

Based on the hardtop Cooper and Cooper S, MINI has released two special versions, namely ‘Baker Street’ and ‘Bayswater’, to commemorate the London Olympic Games 2012.

‘Baker Street’ might ring a bell to fans of the famous Sherlock Holmes – the name is correlated with the character spawn by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Bayswater on the other hand, is the name of a district west of the city center, and is well known for the clusters of bars and restaurants.

While Bayswater is available in both Cooper and Cooper S forms, Baker Street only comes in base trim. Both editions are available in a variety of new interior and exterior designs. Baker Street for instance, sports a grey metallic rooftop, V-shaped black bonnet stripes, gloss-black 16-inch twin-star alloy wheels, gloss black mirror caps, and a black roof complete the exterior. You may also spec the optional Pepper White or Midnight Black finish for the exterior.

The Bayswater comes in an iconic Kite Blue metallic paint, with 17-inch Sandblast wheels in gloss black and bright rim/spoke edges. Sport stripes on the bonnet, striped mirror caps, and a contrasting black roof complete the exterior.

Both the Bayswater and Baker Street comes with 6-speed manual as standard, with 6-speed Automatic as an option.
