@lay4life ya lol everyone knows that, take it to bmw and they will do it for you , if they dont take it to an electronics specialist and he will. . . . .just gotta pay a bit. . . .and if you a car boffen then you can do it yourself, but bmw might take your car off warrenty and maintanence if you do it with someone else ,and your insurance rate will go up a bit, but if you try to be clever and do it and dont tell insurance well they wont pay if anythin fails or goes wrong, they will check

im srry… but the IS-F will NEVER be as good as an M3. It could be faster, sexier… whatever, it’s NEVER gonna happen. In the same weigh the C63, RS4, and S4 will never b as good as the M3 (that means alot comming frm me, im a Benz fanatic.) The M3 owns the sport sedan market.
That lexus is an amazing vehicle if it wasn’t 220 pounds more than the m3 it would be an actual “m3 killer”. Why the hell is it so much heavier anyway? more technology? because that is what it seems like. And for those people who are talking trash about the lexus, the lexus is a better car than the m3, the only advatage the m3 has is performance while the lexus is better in everything else, reliability, torques, technology, and it looks better in my opinion.
I’m not going to talk trash about the lexus because it is a lexus so its more reliable and long lasting and it has a wonderful sound compared to the m3s,but doesnt score well on composure. safe to say it is a reliable muscle car (thats a first!)
@ HalfBreedMix – excellent point. I have an older (2006) M3 and have driven the new one (can’t afford it to say the least) and the IS-F. The M3 is a better car…it feels better…looks better (in my opinion)…brakes better…steers better…etc. BMW has more experience and more heritage. But to say the IS-F doesn’t represent a serious achievement for Lexus is missing it.
LOL @ everyone talking trash about the ISF; you all know you would be jumping up and down with huge smiles if you were getting one tomorrow. It’s one thing to say the M3 is slightly better, but to go on like the ISF is crap, is just plain stupid and “big man behind the keyboard”-ish.
@salil646 if you’re coming to a stop light you don’t have to necessarily shift down- just shift to neutral. when you’re ready to go again, start at first again. the only time you ever need to downshift to a lower gear is to be able to use it immediately- when you’re racing and approaching a corner. coming out of a corner in a lower gear gives you more acceleration.
I’ve always been curious, I know how to shift up in a stick shift, but how does someone shift down? like if you see a stop light in front of you how to u know when to shift back down to 1st?

BMW M and Mercedes AMG have decades of motorsport experience from which they LEARN and PERFECT. Lexus simply took apart a BMW M3 (they even admitted this) and dissected its racing technology. This makes the IS-F incredibly DULL and PRETENTIOUS to me and it fails at even seriously competing with the M3. I would never buy an IS-F or an LF-A. I want sports cars whose manufacturers have worked hard in motorsports to make them better, not cars, like the IS-F, which are poor M3 clones.

Honestly the fact that the ISF, in it’s FIRST incarnation, keeps up with an M3, while having better reliabliity and build quality, is insane to me.
To write it off for not being as composed, or because of something as subjective as styling taste is insane.
They’re both good cars, but it comes down to what you’re looking for in a car.
