@vdeferens rhetorical question
@vdeferens Thanks for agreeing, Johnny Lang is badass. He has so many fans that love his music. I can’t compare him to Buddy Guy or others in terms of worldliness. I see Johnny in his feet already. I mean every musician plays differently and has their own voice. I don’t judge on age when it comes to a musician being at their best. They play and I thank them for their ability and their performances. I think he’s great already. Thanks 4 your reply. Take care.
@vdeferens Sorry, but less is more so long as what your playing (and not playing) still sounds good (see Miles Davis). Ronnie Wood’s solo lacked dynamics, emotion, melody, style, technical virtuosity…you name it. It was simply average (or below average) by almost any musical metric, and average guitar playing shouldn’t be on stage at Crossroads. Sorry, but I’m right and YOU’RE wrong.
@shaneth138 ……….sssshhhh…just between you and me………I totally agree. Quick look out here comes a fanboy!
@tonictaster Irony is totally lost on you isn’t it? You think irony is like goldy or bronzey.
@mthomas4139 In matters of artistic taste it behooves an individual to refrain from using such language as ‘ right’ or ‘wrong’. But I have to say – you are totally wrong. Show me a BB king solo that’s technically impressive… lets all admit it: BB only knew 4 notes – but its ok cos he was TOTALLY BADASS at those 4 notes. Lang played about 128 notes, was he totally badass at those? maybe, maybe not. But the notes Woody played were on the money. Less is more my friend, less is more.
@Jazzbz No, it’s Elvis.
@DocPwn4g3 I’m not your friend, guy!
@ryancoleman3 Yeah TOTALLY agreed. But he’s just a kid. He’s got about 30 years til he’ll be on par. Everyone’s gotta start somewhere.
He’ll look back at this and learn, and be even more kickass in the future.
